The spirit of improv is acceptance. Therefore, we must set ourselves up to accept offers, build upon these offers, and create experiences that are fun, funny, and interesting. To practice acceptance, New England Improv Academy prioritizes the inclusion of performers, students, teachers, and contributors from diverse and varied backgrounds. As such, we are committed to providing a friendly, safe, and welcoming environment for all, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, ability, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, and religion (or lack thereof). This code of conduct details expectations for everyone participating in our community and the consequences for unacceptable behavior.

In our professional and social environment, it’s crucial to establish clear expectations to ensure a safe and respectful atmosphere. In addition to the previous guidelines, we also require the following behaviors from members of the NEIA community. These policies apply to in-person as well as online interactions.
New England Improv Academy has a zero-tolerance policy towards the following behaviors. Immediate action will be taken upon any reports of such behaviors, up to and including immediate expulsion from class without warning and without a refund.
Improv is good for the mind in the same way physical exercise is good for the body. Having superlative communication skills not only builds confidence and enhances listening skills, it also helps to develop friendships all while providing a fun and creative outlet for kids of all ages.
